How to donate to earthquake reconstruction efforts

How to donate to earthquake reconstruction efforts

Donate Now

NRECA International Foundation has been present in Haiti since 1998, when they began to work with Pastor Caleb Lucien to bring electricity to his community of Pignon.

On January 12th, 2010 the world learned of how an earthquake with a magnitude of 7.0 has crippled the capital city, Port-Au-Prince. For those that know Caleb and his family, they are fine and were not harmed; Pignon did not suffer any damage.

NRECA International Programs is sending staff to assist with immediate international relief efforts and assess immediate needs for short term critical distribution network repairs.

To donate, go to www.nrecafoundation.coop. Donations will be used to help with the initial relief assessments and future and potential reconstruction efforts. You can also mail a check to NRECA International Foundation, 4301 Wilson Blvd. Arlington, VA 22203. (All donations are tax-deductible.)

For more information on the efforts NRECA International is leading, contact Ingrid Hunsicker at 703-907-5629 or Ingrid.hunsicker@nreca.coop.

In the near future, NRECA International will compile a list of specific equipment and materials that will be needed for the reconstruction of the distribution network. Stay tuned.
