Construction Specialist

Statement of Work
Introduction:
NRECA has been sub-contracted by Louis Berger Group Incorporated (LBGI) to manage Task Order 3 Market Town Electrification Project of the USAID funded Sudan Infrastructure Services Project (ISP) in Southern Sudan. One of the activities is construction of a power station; residential, office, warehouse and other buildings; and electricity distribution network at both Kapoeta and Maridi market towns.
Whereas the construction of office, residential buildings and warehouse at Kapoeta are substantially complete, that of Maridi facilities is in progress. The erection of the structures at Maridi is near complete but substantial finishing works remain. NRECA therefore desires to contract a Construction Specialist to undertake and complete the remaining critical finishing works.
Objective:
The objective of this position is to assist the Maridi Construction Manager to complete the finishing of the office and residential buildings for occupation by end June 2010.
Scope of Work:
The Specialist will be a key member of the Task Order 3 project team responsible for completing compound structures, including, but not limited to:
- Wiring to comply with NESC standards
- Rough and finishing plumbing
- Finish carpentry – ceilings, wall doors, windows, counters, etc
- Assembly of furniture
- Other activities assigned by construction manager
- Weekly progress briefs, following a prescribed form provided by the Construction Manager
Deliverables: Deliverables shall consist of the:
- Office, residential buildings and warehousing finishing works completed within the specified period and specified quality.
- Other works completed and facilities ready or occupation
- Submission of weekly progress reports
Worksite: Maridi, Southern Sudan. The Specialist may also work at Kapoeta, if necessary.
Start Date: 1 May, 2010
End Date: 30 September, 2010
Work Schedule: Work schedule is six days, Monday through Saturday. Sunday work is not authorized and will not be compensated. Workday is capped at eight (8) hours.
Level of Effort: This assignment is for up to a maximum total of 3 man-months or 60 workdays unless prior authorization from NRECA is acquired.
Supervision: Consultant shall be under the supervision of Robert W Dalton, Construction Manager
