The geospatial and information systems team was established in Dhaka in the early 2000s supports virtually all NRECA International projects since. Led by senior staff in headquarters, plus project directors located in different countries, the team has successfully overseen primary data collection of national and local electric systems to develop geospatial electrification planning and analysis platforms. These platforms are used for electrification expansion planning, and in recent years also play key roles in national level expansion planning. The team supports business systems deployed for small and medium-sized distribution systems in Haiti, Central America and Sub-Saharan Africa.
