Two women took turns playing the drum for the group as they sang songs for Caroline Kurtz.
As head of the Maji Development Coalition, Caroline Kurtz, or Maji Gold, is well known in the community for her love of the people.
In the Maji area, there are 37 elementary schools, but only one high school. Most students have to walk more than an hour to get there.
